Our growing EPICenter team is comprised of leaders who have led several nonprofit initiatives in the Durham community. All of us truly enjoy dedicating time, energy, and resources to Durham nonprofits. Over the last few years, as Durham has seen tremendous economic growth, we have noticed an alarming trend of the loss of space and leaders in the Black community. As a result of these losses, community organizations are scrambling to find spaces to meet, train leaders, and solve problems. We founded the EPICenter to meet the need for space to train community leaders and to showcase the power of community collaboration. We hereby invite you to join us in this worthwhile effort.
Our EPICenter team has launched a capital campaign to raise $250,000. The raised funds will be utilized to assist in the purchasing and renovation of a community center, the EPICenter, a meeting space and leadership training & development facility. The EPICenter will help fill the void that is being left by the sale of both the NC Mutual and M&F Corporate Headquarters buildings, as both organizations granted many nonprofits free meeting space when they owned/controlled their buildings. As our historic organizations can no longer shoulder that responsibility, we must come together to create a space that can serve our community’s growth and development for the next 100 years.
Again, we invite you to join us and donate to this worthy cause. No amount is too small or too large as all donations are appreciated and are tax-deductible. Thank you very much for your consideration.
